Though I've watched any number of productions of A Christmas Carol in one form or another, I've never read the actual book.
That is now remedied. This is my second Dickens book to date, and I what I can say of my experience is that, while it didn't move me the way A Tale of Two Cities did, it was still enjoyable. I was surprised how little new there was for me to discover (some renditions I've seen are very accurate to the story!), but Dickens is cleverly wordy, so there was fun revisiting Fred Scrooge's Christmas, for example. I delighted in all the descriptive food passages. The Spirit of Christmas Present was my fav.
Overall, it fed my soul in a way that was needed right now, and I can't ask for much more than that.
