Marked In Flesh - Anne Bishop

So good. Squeaky Dance game good.

No spoilers, just two random things.

1.) After the 50% mark, I was so engrossed that when I finished the book and left the house to run an errand, I couldn't wrap my head around why it was dry and warm outside. Didn't it just storm?

When a book pulls you so deeply in that you've imagined weather, I count it as good.

2.) In the midst of a bad election year, I've lamented about the world in which I'm raising children in -- but while reading this I thought, "Hey, it could be worse. I could be trying to figure out how to keep my kids from being eaten."

When a book makes you consider how fiction would feel if it were reality, I also count that as good.

One of the best things about this series is that it is NOT predictable. I have no idea where it's going, but I'm so on board.
