The Ugly Duchess - Eloisa James

Chewed on this for a bit and have decided that overall this was really just okay.

I really take issue with Theo being so sensitive about being called 'the ugly duchess'. In the beginning, and even through the middle, she partakes in saying unflattering things of other people without once having any self-awareness. And she supposidely wanted to marry someone who also has this tendency. Does it never occur to her that what hurts her hurts others? Couple that with both characters selfish and self-loathing behavior and it just wasn't very enjoyable overall. (hide spoiler)]

I don't know what it is precisely, but Eloisa James is utterly readable. My thoughts on her books seem to vary greatly, but I keep wanting to to read her stories. Maybe with more experience with her work I'll be able to put my finger on what it is about her stories that are like crack.
