There is this episode of The Simpsons where Homer sings this song...
"I am so smart, S-M-R-T".
Oh, God, it's hilarious.
I kind of felt like Homer this entire book.
I had literally convinced myself that I certainly, absolutely, could have written a better book given the source material. I was singing my own praises and patting myself on the back each time I came across an error, a plot hole, a grammatically incorrect sentence.
Of course that was between a couple of snoozes. I nodded off twice while reading.
I even highlighted whole passages and saved notes on my Kindle.
Then I realized I was being pompous and bitchy, and a little 's-m-r-t'. After all, I haven't written a book. It's probably really hard to do. And then you have to convince a bjillion people that it's good and worthy to be published.
So, for that reason, I'll leave all my snippy critiques on my Kindle and just say that the first two installments were more enjoyable than this one.
