The Secret (Medieval, #1) - Julie Garwood
Missed a lot of aspects that I love about Scottish/Medieval historicals - didn't have the feel of keep/clan life, the language was way too modern (which I could tolerate in her regency's but really take issue with here), and the 'warriors' were not quite barbaric enough. Overall it was okay, there were a couple funny parts that were very recognizable as Garwood formula. I wasn't in love with any characters, but didn't dislike them either. I thought that Brodick was probably the most intriguing and would be a sequel book I'd try out.
